She is the first Yoga teacher from China Mainland to attend the Anusara teacher’s training with founder John Friend. | In April, 2007 Sherri went to Goa to study Ashtanga with John Scott. Sherri has attended John Scott ’s workshop for three times since, and she is John’s assistant and translator at his workshops in mainland China . |
Chuck Miller& Maty Ezraty are Sherri’s most respectable teachers. In spring 2010 Fine Yoga and Sherri hosted Chuck & Maty during their first visit to mainland China ever. They presented their Universal Yoga Principles course. |

"I feel the best occupation in the world is Yoga teacher, as we can bring the good effect of Yoga to student’s body, mind and life."
Sherri started Hatha Yoga in 2000. Since 2002, she has been doing her daily intensive Ashtanga practice and every year Sherri Rao spends several months in Pattabhi Jois's yoga shala in Mysore in order to develop her personal practice as well as her teaching skills. Sherri also attends teacher trainings, retreats and classes with other world renowned teachers on a continuing basis.
Sherri did not have any physical sports- or dancing background before Yoga practice and she encourages students to start Yoga regardless of age and physical conditions, and to practice with compassion and discipline. Ultimately opening the heart to enjoy the inner peace Yoga can bring upon.
In 2005, she took over the only Ashtanga Yoga centre in Beijing from her English Yoga teacher. The first name of the school was BeijingYOGA which a bit later was changed into Fine Yoga (www.FineYoga.com).
